In this session, Dr. Andrea Littleton, lead clinician for street medicine at Care for the Homeless in New York City, shares her inspiring journey and work. She discusses how she became boarded in addiction medicine to better serve homeless clients suffering from substance abuse and mental illness. Dr. Littleton emphasizes the importance of preventative medicine, social determinants of health, and listening to patients. She describes a typical day in her role, the collaborative efforts with BronxWorks, and provides advice on maintaining optimism and utilizing a team approach in medical advocacy.

About Andrea Littleton, MD
Dr. Andrea Littleton grew up in Kingston, NY. She completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University in 1993, majoring in Biology and Nutrition. She went on to graduate from the State University of New York/Stony Brook Medical School in 1999 and trained in Family Medicine at the Montefiore Family and Social Medicine Program, where she graduated in 2002.
