How It Works

Thursday

Full day of 1:1 meetings, group sessions, and R&R with a kick-off social event that evening!

Friday & Saturday

Morning plenary lectures and mastermind groups and afternoon enrichment or relaxation (build your own schedule).

Sunday

1:1 and group sessions in the morning and a farewell jazz brunch as the finishing touch for the weekend.

What’s New

You’ll have plenty of time to design your own schedule with 1:1 consults, group sessions, and down time each day. 

We’ve curated activities to meet everyone’s needs (practice management, personal development, and just plain fun).

Breakfast and lunch are provided everyday. We’ve added one night for you to design your own evening (or participate in our scheduled beach event).

The event is all-inclusive – all listed meals and activities are included in the registration fee. We won’t be upcharging for any additional events.

Moving the Needle: Mentorship, Sponsorship and Allyship

During times of crisis, your network becomes even more vital. Successful leaders learn to build a network of mentors, sponsors and allies who will provide support, feedback, stability, and opportunities. This is particularly important for women and underrepresented minorities in medicine. Allyship in particular is critically important to changing culture and to support a diverse team.

Dr. Hopkins will lead you through an interactive enneagram workshop and will share how it can be used as a tool to better understand yourself and others.

Leadership Luncheon and Workshop

Each table discusses the topic of leading in a prolonged crisis and the challenges for women who stay in the workforce.  What is the anchor that keeps us tied to our mission as physicians? You will:

    • Articulate the importance of personal and professional development planning
    • Describe the process of professional development planning
    • Identify your network of mentors and professional colleagues
    • List strategies for career advancement

Beach Break

Join your retreat friends for a bus trip to the sugar sand beaches of Perdido Key where you will spend the afternoon relaxing, enjoying a tropical drink, and cooling off in the clear blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

Alternatively, you can spend the afternoon at the resort, enjoying the amenities, scheduling a 1:1 consultation, or joining a fun group session.

Dinner is on your own tonight, so grab your griends and head into town!

Leading By Example: Optimizing Health and Wellness Through the Midlife Transition

We will explore evidence based approaches to managing the inevitable changes that all women will experience as they approach midlife.  Topics will include personal wellness, menopause management and sexual health.  There will be a focus on empowering attendees to take control of their own health while gaining knowledge on how to help guide patients and peers as well.

In this session, Katrina will share a personal story of overcoming fear to empower other women to step out of their comfort zones and be leaders personally and professionally.

Grab a sack lunch (included) and meet up with some friends on the lawn or head into town for some shopping. The afternoon is your to plan as you wish. We’ll have consultants on hand for 1:1 sessions so you can tackle your biggest personal or practice issues. Or you can sign up for a fun group session like culinary medicine, a wardrobe makeover and shopping excursion, or an art class. Of course, no one will think twice if you decide to take a nap or lounge by the gorgeous resort pool.
